- Each student who will be competing at New York State History Day – either as an individual or group – must register using the Online Registration system. In other words, each member of a group must complete his or her own registration.
- Students should not use the Online Registration system until their teacher/adult sponsor has set up their entry in the system. Teachers: please contact the New York State History Day office for instructions on setting up Online Registration for your students
- Registrations must be completed by April 1, 2010. We will not be able to accept late registrations.
- If you are submitting a junior or senior historical paper you must submit your final entry by the registration deadline. Four printed copies of the historical paper must be sent to the New York State History Day and postmarked by April 1, 2010. (Please note that the papers will not be returned.)
- If you are submitting a junior or senior website, you do not need to send in hard copies of your paperwork or CDs of your website before the contest. All website entries must be created using the NHD Web Portal (nhd.weebly.com) and be completed by April 1, 2010. Because website entries are reviewed by judges before the contest, students will not be able to make changes to their website after April 1, 2010 until the day after the New York State History Day contest.
- If you are submitting a junior or senior exhibit, performance, or documentary, you must bring four printed copies of your process paper and bibliography with you to the contest, along with all other materials. You DO NOT need to send materials to the state office prior to the contest.
- Judging will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday morning. You must check-in at the registration tables at The Farmers' Museum Main Barn before your entry can be judged.
- Once you have completed your Online Registration, you will receive an email confirmation letter. It may take up to five business days for your registration to be completely processed and an email confirmation to be sent. Please wait five business days before calling the office to inquire about entry receipt.
- When you arrive at New York State History Day, you must also register onsite at the Main Barn of The Farmers' Museum to receive your final judging schedule and other important information. On-site registration will be held Thursday, April 29 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday, April 30 from 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.
